Remedy IT, a provider of Interoperable Open Architecture for IIoT and distributed, real-time and embedded systems, today announced the release of TAOX11 v2.6.0.
TAOX11 v2.6.0 includes the following main features — see our feature overview for all features:
- IDL 3.5 support
- Compliant to the IDL to C++11 v1.5 language mapping
- Partial support for IDL 4.2 map, int8/uint8, explicitly-named integer types, bitmask, bitset, empty struct, and struct inheritance extensions
- Brix11 scaffolding support
- Suite of unit tests and examples
TAOX11 v2.6.0 also includes the following major improvements:
- Added support for Visual Studio 2022
- Upgraded the required C++ standard to C++17
- Extended support for IDL 4.2 extensions
- Added a base library which enables projects to use IDL to C++11 generated types without linking any ACE/TAO/TAOX11 libraries
- Reduced size of generated code
- Removed workarounds for older, broken compilers
- Upgraded ACE/TAO/MPC dependencies
This release has also been internally ported to the Embarcadero C++ Builder 13.0 bcc64x compiler. This new port requires customer sponsoring for release into the open source repositories.
